I bought this backpack version of the Madela pump after already owning & using the tote-style bag with identical pump. I don't need two because both are very easy to transport (all you have to do is unplug the AC adapter, I just have a bad habit of forgetting to transport between home & work. Without going on about the pump, which is wonderful & easy to use - all of the necessary accessories are included in the bag.
My two cents is that if you're torn between the tote & the bookbag, get the bookbag - it may look silly, but you can actually wear the bookbag & pump at the same time, which is wonderful if you're at home by yourself - I can use this & pump while at the same time take care of errands around the house without having to be "tied down" to a chair. To wear it, you obviously need to use the DC battery pack vs. the AC adapter - I saw another post where the user complained that the pump lost its strength after one session with the DC pack; however, I am currently on my 6th pumping session with the DC pack and haven't had any loss of suction yet. The trick is just to use good batteries - the only downside is that the pack requires 8 AA batteries. Also, to fully take advantage of the moving-around-the-house backpack feature, you'll need a pumping bra to allow you to be hands-free, I use the Simple Wishes Hands Free Pumping Bustier for Medela Breast Pump L/XL/XXL, which works great for that purpose. (I only wear it to pump, not for "normal" bra purposes -- it fits like a halter-top and is very adjustable and also comes with straps that you can attach so that it fits like a normal bra.)
The last bit of feedback is on the storage system - while it did come with one nipple so that the storage bottles can be used to feed the baby as well, I recommend to simply just use them as storage and use Dr. Browns bottles for feeding baby (the Dr. Brown's 4-oz bottles are also compatible with the Madela pump). I've found that the Dr. Brown's do a great job cutting down on gas. (note, the compatibility is one-way, the Dr. Browns inserts do not fit inside the Madela storage bottles).

I bought the Medela breastpump because I knew breastmilk was the best for my baby, and I would be going back to work. The pump is easy to figure out, easy to assemble, and easy to wash. When first turned on, the pump has a let-down feature to mimic baby's nursing. The pump will automatically switch over after 2 minutes, but you can hit a button to switch it over if you let down faster. The pump features a dial to change the strength of the suction. I've found that the suction is more than efficient. I never pump on the highest speed because I feel like it's too vigorous.
My pump came with a cooler and ice pack and 4 bottles. I pump while I am at work and breastfeed at home and I find that I am CONSTANTLY freezing milk. I would recommend to everyone to get more storage bottles. I have 8 small and 4 large, and I still feel like some days that's not enough!
I do like the small design of the backpack, but I wish it was a little bit bigger. I keep my pump pieces in a plastic storage box and stick them in the refrigerator at work so that I don't have to wash them during my short break. So between the box of pump pieces and the little cooler--it doesn't all fit in the bag. I am almost always carrying a diaper bag or a work bag also, but kind of a small inconvenience.
One other disadvantage is that it is impossible for me to pump without holding the breastshields in place. If I let go, sometimes even just for a second to hit the let-down button, the shields fall off and I leak milk all over. I know that you can purchase different shields, so I may not have the right size.
Overall this pump has done well for my little man's first 5 months of life. He's happy and growing--so that's what's most important!! :)

This pump is very easy to use, and its adjustable suction power allows you to make it as gentle as you need it to be. Also, I always toss the pump pieces in the dishwasher and the come out perfect and ready to use again.
If you breastfeed and want the convenience of bottles, this is an excellent pump.
